‘Lehigh Valley Health Network implemented a FlinCare™ pilot targeting colleagues interested in support for weight loss and adopting a healthy lifestyle.  Fifty-three people participated in interviews, which were conducted by six different certified interviewers using the FlinCare™ software.  Participants were offered ongoing support as per their preferences (i.e. additional meetings, weekly emails or no contact).

Three-months following the interview, we asked participants to complete a 21-question survey, which included the twelve questions from the Partners in Health scale, to which 72% of the participants responded.  After reviewing their original care plan, the average rating of their biggest problem was a 5.14 (down from a 7 or 8 out of 8), progress on their goals averaged at 3.97 (up from a 0 or 1) and on average they accomplished 2.71 goals in three months.  Examples of these goals included: increased physical activity, finding a new physician, losing 6 pounds, eating healthier, getting to the gym 2-3 times a week, and taking medication regularly.”  In addition, when asked if they would recommend the FlinCare™ program to others, participants scored it a 6.15 out of 8.

We are currently in the process of launching a 6 month follow-up survey for the weight and healthy lifestyle project.  In addition, our next pilot, which is to be launched in June 2015, we will integrate the FlinCare™ software with secure Telehealth technology to offer patients convenient access to FlinCare™ through their personal devices’
